NETGEAR is pleased to announce the release of RAIDiator 4.2.5 (x86), an update firmware for the ReadyNAS Pro and NVX network attached storage product lines.

This release will work with ReadyNAS Pro Pioneer, Pro Business, and NVX, and can be updated easily from FrontView. The simplest way to update is to use the System/Update/Remote tab in Frontview. If you prefer, you can choose to do a local update by first downloading the new image here: RAIDiator-x86-4.2.5. We recommend that you update your ReadyNAS to this latest RAIDiator release to ensure your ReadyNAS is running with all the latest bug fixes and enhancements.

The following are changes since RAIDiator 4.2.4.

New features

  1. ReadyNAS Remote is now embedded in the release. You no longer need to install the add-on separately.
  2. Include ReadyDLNA. This is a new DLNA-compatible service that replaces the one in RAIDiator 4.2.4 and prior releases, and this should be more compatible with DLNA devices such as the new crop of DLNA-capable TV’s, PS3, and XBox 360. Also, included with ReadyDLNA is support for TiVo’s Home Media Option where you can stream photos and music to your TiVo boxes. More info on TiVo support here.
  3. Added iSCSI target backup support in the Backup Manager.
  4. Added more SMTP server options.

Bug fixes

  1. Fixed AFP file copy from folder to folder within the same share.
  2. Fixed iSCSI tab not showing up on ReadyNAS NVX.
  3. SMTP server settings should be more flexible to work with more servers.
  4. Fixed mount/unmount support of USB device with Backup button on the Pro.
  5. Fixed issue where drive failure on 2nd volume in Flex-RAID mode would not resync until rebooting.

Limitations

  1. Cannot connect to newly expanded iSCSI target with CHAP authentication until you reset the CHAP password.
  2. Cannot cancel iSCSI target creation.
  3. If user is connected to a ReadyNAS share, and Recycle Bin is enabled, user needs to reconnect before seeing the Recycle Bin.
