NETGEAR acquires Leaf Networks

Structured as an acquisition of certain assets of Leaf, NETGEAR has acquired a select team of engineering professionals, its pending and issued patents, proprietary technologies, customer base, current products and products in development. The Leaf engineering team will focus primarily on developing software and technology for NETGEAR products.
Leaf CEO Jeff Capone will become NETGEAR’s a new VP of Software Engineering and Pramod Immameni will be managing software development. The rest of his engineering team has also be joined NETGEAR in its San Jose headquarters. Leaf Networks and NETGEAR have had a successful partnership and have been delivering products since Q1 2009. This acquisition will fuel the development of additional new products and services that will start to be released by the middle of 2010.
