NETGEAR is pleased to announce the release of RAIDiator 4.2.13 (x86), the latest firmware for the ReadyNAS Pro Business Edition, Pro Pioneer, NVX, NVX Pioneer, 2100, 3100, 3200, 4200, Ultra 4, and Ultra 6 network attached storage product lines. We are releasing this firmware update primarily because of a fix to a network driver problem that resolves several cases of file transfer delays reported by our customers.
The simplest way to update is to use the System/Update/Remote tab in Frontview. If you prefer, you can choose to do a local update by first downloading the new image here: RAIDiator-x86-4.2.13. We recommend that you update your ReadyNAS to this latest RAIDiator release to ensure your ReadyNAS is running with all the latest bug fixes and enhancements.
Please be warned that once you upgrade to 4.2.13, you cannot downgrade back to 4.2.5 or prior releases.
The following are changes since RAIDiator 4.2.12.
New features and enhancements
- Added 1 and 2 hour options to backup and snapshot scheduling as requested by our forum users.
- Added iSCSI option for ReadyNAS NVX and Pro Pioneer. If you have one of these two Pioneer Edition units, you can now gain the iSCSI feature by installing this update and then installing the following this add-on.
- Added Time Machine archive backup support.
- Update backup job logs while the backup job is still running.
- Performance tweaks for CIFS.
Bug fixes
- Fixed a memory leak with the Network driver on the ReadyNAS Ultra 4, Ultra 6, NVX, Pro, and 2100.
- Took out Fast CIFS Writes performance option on x86 systems. No benefit on non-Sparc systems.
- Allow tilda “~” character in the backup exclude list.
- Fixed import and export of domain ID map.
- Quiet down NVX early in the boot process.
- Fixed IE8 problem with setting share access restriction in FrontView CIFS page.
Limitations
- IE 6 no longer supported. Please update to IE 7 or 8.
- Volume expansion will not work beyond 16 TB. To support 16 TB or greater, you’ll have to factory default with that capacity in place.
- Snapshot resizing has been disabled in the release. We will re-enable this feature in a future update.
