Add-ons for RAIDiator 4.1.3+
The following add-ons are available for the RAIDiator 4.1.3+ releases. To install the add-on, you will need to download the add-on image and install it in the System/Update/Local tab. You will need to reboot after some add-on installation.
Installed Add-ons (under Services)
ReadyNAS_Photos (v2.2 Mar 31, 2009) – Use this add-on to update or re-install ReadyNAS Photos if you have previously removed it from the Services>Installed AddOns page.
BitTorrent (v1.3 Jun 19, 2008) – Use this add-on to update re-install BitTorrent if you have previously removed it from the Services>Installed AddOns page.
ReadyDLNA – (Replaces the existing UPnP-AV server support) Enables playback of videos, music and pictures from DLNA/UPnP AV network media players. Also adds TiVo HMO support. For use with RAIDiator 4.1.5+ Only.
Miscellaneous Patches
ReadyNAS Vault (v2.0.9 January 12, 2010) – Updates RAIDiator 4.1.6 with fixes and speed improvements. Changelog can be found here.
ForceExpansion – Data volume size greater than 2TB is now supported. Existing X-RAID systems utilizing 750GB will not automatically expand . you will need to use the ForceExpansion add-on to reclaim the extra 40GB of space beyond the previous pre-RAIDiator 4.0 2TB limitation. Note that if you will be using 1TB drives, make sure to check the Hard Disk Compatibility List.
EnableFanMinRPMOverride – This add-on is available for user who are replacing the stock fan with a fan meeting the specs of the ReadyNAS. The addon allows you to set up the fan minimum RPM speed, overriding the minimum setting for the stock fan. The option appears in the System/Power Management tab in FrontView. Use of this addon is discouraged as misuse can lead to fan circuitry failure on the mainboard. Please also understand that use of this addon to lower the fan RPM below the default will void your ReadyNAS warranty.
NoSMBDisconnect – By default, inactive clients (zero open files) on a CIFS share are disconnected after 10 minutes to free up system resources. Clients will auto-reconnect on demand, but there can be a delay of a few seconds during this time. With this addon installed, no auto-disconnection will be performed.
ToggleMasterBrowser – By default, the ReadyNAS will become the SMB master browser on your network, unless you have a Windows NT/2K/2K3 server on the network. This addon will change this behavior to never become the SMB master browser. If you install the addon again, it will change the behavior back to default.
CleanTwonky – You can use this if somehow the TwonkyMedia settings were set in such a way where you can no longer access it. All this does is reset all settings to the default settings.
CleanITunesConfig – You can use this if somehow the iTunes Streaming Server (or Firefly) settings were set in such a way where you can no longer access it. All this does is reset all settings to the default settings.
CleanSqueezeCenter_DB – You can use this if somehow the SlimServer settings were set in such a way where you can no longer access it. All this does is reset all settings to the default settings.
Clean_USB_Storage – Existing USB drives may be named differently upon upgrade. This may affect existing backups to USB shares. If name conflict arises, you can use the Clean_USB_Storage addon.
ToggleCaseSensitivity – This addon is only meant for users that turned on Case Sensitivity in a previous release, and need to turn it back off. The option has been removed from the GUI due to issues it can cause.
Update_AFP_Support – This add-on fixes the Meta data and time stamps not being carried over properly.
Fix_ProFTPD_ADSAuth – This add-on fixes the FTP server not authenticating properly while joined to ADS domains.

Shell Access Patches
ToggleSSH – Toggles access via SSH, useful for NETGEAR support to remotely access your box to look at or fix problems that requires deeper understanding. SSH access is disabled by default.
EnableRootSSH – With the EnableRootSSH add-on, you can now remote login to the ReadyNAS RAIDiator shell as a root user. Initial password for root will be the same as the current FrontView admin password. Please keep in mind that NETGEAR may deny support if you’ve enabled root access.
APT – Debian package management utility. You will be able to run the standard Debian command “apt-get” to download and install packages for everything you need for development, including the headers for the non-standard packages used for the ReadyNAS.
