Memory

The goal of this list is to help users find memory module upgrades for the ReadyNAS appliances. Below are modules that have passed our in-house test or have been reported to be working fine from ReadyNAS users. The test does not intend to qualify these modules’ quality. NETGEAR makes no warranty with respect to the accuracy of the test results posted below.

As you may know, memory is one of most sensitive components found in computer systems. Thus there is a slight chance that replacement memory modules from the compatibility list will not work in your ReadyNAS system. If you encounter such a situation, the first thing you should do is to make sure the connection between the socket and module is good. If the problem persists, try re-installing the old module (shipped with the ReadyNAS system) and reboot. NETGEAR warranty will continue after replacing/upgrading your memory module. But we may not be able to help with data recovery from data loss caused by replaced memory modules. Many people have successfully done the replacement or upgrade and are happy with the result.

Warning: It is recommended that you perform the Memory Test at least twice before using new memory module.
