ReadyNAS vs. Traditional File Server

July 15, 2008 - SMBs often face the same challenges if not more than the larger organizations when it comes to providing employees an effective file sharing solution.  Data redundancy, provisioning of client licensing, complexity of supporting heterogeneous OS environments, and providing effective backup solutions are just some of the issues confronting small and medium-sized businesses, especially the ones not fortunate enough to have a dedicated IT staff.  If this sounds familiar, take a look at The Benefits of Network Attached Storage in Small and Mid-sized Business Networks and see how the ReadyNAS can help out.

How to develop a Frontview Add-on

July 10, 2008 - The ReadyNAS as a low-power-consuming always-on redundant storage appliance (whew that was a mouthful) makes an awesome platform to develop new and exciting add-ons to allow it to do even more than what it does already.  The BitTorrent and ReadyNAS Photos are a couple of add-ons that our users love, and that’s just the tip of the iceburg.  We’ve got more coming, and we’d love to share in the API to get you started with your own add-ons.  We’ve even made our Frontview Add-on SDK available with a nice templating system so you can get started in no time.  So, if you’ve been itching to get hackin’ on the ReadyNAS, take a look at our How to develop a Frontview Add-on article here.
