Hi,
Hardware/Software:
2 * ReadyNAS Pro 6, RAIDiator v 4.2.19.
I have a windows 2003 server (Will get upgraded to 08 next year) and we've run out of space on this. The idea was to make shares on one of the ReadyNAS-boxes and to try and mirror this as much updated as possible to the other ReadyNAS-box. I'm not even sure rsync is the way to go (hence question #1 below)
The only "rsync-guide" I can find is:
http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/backup/how_do_i_setup_two_readynas_units_to_mirror_each_other_with_the_built-in_backup_manager_using_the_rsync_protocol
Unfortunately, for me (and my limited knowledge) this is a bit thin.
Two questions:
1) This first question is actually not *only* related to rsync, but I thought I could post it here anyway since I had problems finding a forum for it. (Please let me know if I need to open a new thread for this) - The question is:
Is it discussed somewhere the benefits and/or drawbacks on how to setup ReadyNAS Pro 6 for backups? I mean, theres iSCSI, FrontView Backups, rsync and there's ReadyNAS Replicate (I have licences for both boxes).
2) Is there a more detailed guide on how to setup two ReadyNAS units to mirror each other using the built-in backup-manager using rsync?
Thank you for your time!
