can't connect from external ip

I've a Ultra 6 with latest firmware 4.2.21

I've setup a iscsi and successfully connected to it from different computers when on the same network as my Ultra, but when on external ip I can't connect to it.
I do a discovery and do get up the available target (and no problem accessing frontview either).
I've added the iqn of the host in the ACL list for that Lun.
The operativsystem i'm on is a windows 7.

The errormessages only says can't connect.

any suggestion where to start to look?

Is your firewall forwarding port 3260?

yes, otherwise the target(s) wouldn't appear at all.

What router do you use? Do the logs give any hint of dropped traffic?

actually don't get any logmessages at all about this..very strange so guessing something with the settings in iscsi initiatorn is wrong. don't know what though. Going to go through the windows event logs again but they haven't provided any vital information before.
