I'm about ready to throw this ReadyNAS out the window but before I do that, I thought I would check here on my issue.
Yesterday, for a number of reasons, it was necessary to do a factory default reset on my ReadyNAS Ultra 2. All went well and while I was at it, I upgraded the firmware to 4.2.20.
After going through the setup again (all went well here too), I copied back my videos and confirmed I could once again see everything from my Tivo. I noticed later on in the afternoon that a couple new directories weren't showing up but thought maybe it needed to do it's daily archiving before they would show, so I left it to this morning. Checked again this morning and the new directories (under Videos on the Media share) were still not showing up, so I thought I'd check FrontView.
When I logged in to Frontview, I got a message popup that said to check the logs, which I did, however there were no log entries, so I checked the "Streaming Services" menu and for some reason the "ReadyDLNA" section was gone. I then checked the "Standard File Protocols" section and everything was unchecked... I thought this was odd, so I tried to reapply the checkmarks and each time I would apply, the checkmarks would simply disappear...
I then tried reflashing the firmware update and I could then at least get the file protocols to stick but ReadyDLNA was still nowhere to be found, so I found the addon "bin" package on the readynas website and successfully installed it and it still doesn't show up... Tried installing the ReadyTiVo addon and that too installed successfully (at least according to the log) but it also cannot be found anywhere...
I rebooted the damn thing and I'm now at my wits end...
All the lights are green on Frontview, everything looks like its working and yet, I cannot see the ReadyNAS on any of my TiVos...
Thoughts before I chuck this thing out the window??? It's not supposed to be this hard, is it?
Appreciate any constructive feedback... Thanks, Ron
