Hi,
I'm still having problems with Vista SP1 and Raidiator 4.1.5
Files in users home share still randomly shows up as Not available offline.

Has anyone made progress in making Offline files working on Vista without using third party tools??

Edit:
Just to clarify, this affects files in different folders, long & short filenames, word, excel, PDF, TXT etc. While some files are available offline, others in the same folder are not. Cant see any pattern other then that folders always seems to be available.
What I've tried so far: Reinitialize Vista Offline Cache. Move to local disk, delete contents of User home share, move back to Readynas.
I really dont think this is a Vista Problem while syncing works fine with 2003 server.

I am also having this issue even with the new firmware 4.2.5. Does anyone know when or if this will be fixed in the next firmware release. From reading the post it seems the oplocks add-on fixed the issue couldn't this just be provided again? I will also test with Windows 7 to see if the issue remains or has anyone verified that?

I just started using a new laptop with Vista 64-bit OS and am having this same problem of being unable to sync files with my NAS w/o third party software. I unchecked UAC and verified I'm using version 4.1.5. Any other suggestions?

I started this thread in a positive mood...
Offline synch works for common shares (I don't know how the home share is doing) but it is not reliable. We seem to get loads of phony files and partitions (e.g. "809097~") through our only Vista-laptop. Don't know why, might not necessarily be Vistas fault altogether, we have WLAN issues with this computer as well...and it is impossible to load SP1 on it (even after going through the 10 points-to-correct-list from MS-support)
We're using RAIDiator 4.1.5 [1.00a043] still.
Meanwhile wating for our saviour W7  , our following computers are being procurred with XP.....that kind of says it all...

PS For the Jedi Council...not that I understand the post from "woip" (it's beyond me) but do you have a reply for the message below?
I have made no attempt to change these settings because it will impair my Netgear garanty but I am now convinced that Netgear understand/can provide a solution if they were willing to look seriously at this problem. I hope sombody from Netgear engineering read this.

I've heard that this problem occurs on some Vista machines but not others. One post I saw elsewhere said that there was a registry setting in Vista that some manufacturers have set differently that can interfere with this. I saw it specifically about some Dell machines, but I don't know anything more. I'm using a Lenovo machine myself.

Nope, we're using HP, Fujitsu Siemens.... It seems like a real long shot that the issue would be affecting only certain PC-brand. Specially when syncing works towards 2003 server.

Count me as another frustrated user. I have a Lenovo Vista SP1 that doesn't successfully sync with shared files. My NV+ is running 4.1.6. I have simplist security configuration -- "share". Note that some files in a directory do sync while others don't.

All I want to do is be able to have my Vista notebook sync with shared files on the Readynas. My other client is XP but I'm getting errors on files that aren't touched by it. All errors are the same: "The process cannot access the file because it si being used by another process."

I can't understand how such a basic function fails to work!

Not sure what folks are connecting to .. mine is a ReadyNas 2100

but anyway... one of the Jedi had a pm dialogue with me that said this is an issue with Samba on Linux and that the folks of Netgear have been pushing for a patch. It is suppose to come soon.
