Would it still backup the open files? Like the Outlook file?The NAS should not be locking files during backup. Perhaps there was an interruption in the connection?

My other machine was in sleep mode. There is plenty of memory on the 2003 server machine (3Gig) and not many apps running. Could it be some bug in the CIFS?
