Random lack of file access in Windows, but working from DLNA

Postby LotW » Tue Jul 24, 2012 8:48 am

Hello.

firstly, i have a ReadyNAS Ultra 4 with 4x 3TB Seagate Barracuda XT (ST33000651AS) drives.

I have this wierd problem. I get random lack of file access from windows explorer (i can see the files and folders but i cant open/move the files) it seems to be totaly random and sometimes its fixed (but for only some files) if i restarts the nas. But even tho i lack access to the files in windows explorer i can access them via my samsung Allshare phone/tv/HT system (DLNA) with no problems.

It might be a coincidence but i started noticing it when the nas was over 90-95% full (it was at 99% at the most) and i noticed at the same time that file copying to the nas took forever to start (somtimes it would even fail to start stating that a file with the same name but 0k in size was allready on the nas). ive now managed to move files off the nas so its at 94% and falling but i have to pick files manualy since i get access problems to a good deal of files.

Anyone know the reason for this? and more importantly, what i can do to fix it... The files are not lost since they are playable throu the DLNA server...

Hate to bump my own post, but im still having the problem mentioned above.

I have some files and folders that i dont get access to throu windows explorer in WinXP, but i can access em throu my tv, suround system smartphone etc. (DLNA)...
It seems totaly random what files/folders it effects.

Was wondering if the lack of response was that nobody exept me have had this problem, or nobody knows how to fix it...

its sorta anoying since im in the prosess of changing my folder structure and moving some stuff over to my new second nas... again, i know the files are not "broken" since i can access them with no problem throu the DLNA service on other devices then the computer.
