How to access a USB share from Win7

Postby GuiGuy » Tue Jul 24, 2012 2:54 pm

Hi,
I have tried to access a shared USB HDD (ReadyNAS nv+) using information from this and other threads

I note the owner of the USB device (2T NTFS) is root as is the group.

Non of it works for me in Win7. I am constantly prompted for credentials, which are rejected. Access from WinXP and linux is no problem.

Any ideas?

TIA

Please check if you are the below problem,
http://ubuntuguide.net/fix-windows-7-ca ... rom-ubuntu

First of all, boot into the Windows 7 and then head to Start -> Control Panel -> System and Security -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy -> Local Policies -> Security Options
Then, do the changes below:
Double click to set “Network security: LAN Manager authentication level” to “Send LM & NTLM responses”
choose “Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP… ” (there’re two of these; disable both)disable “Require 128 bit encryption”.
