Error Processing TGS Request

Postby bcook » Wed Jun 13, 2007 8:23 am

Hello, we have:

Hostname: oakfile1
Model: Infrant ReadyNAS NV+
Serial: xxxxxxxxxxxx
Firmware: RAIDiator™ v3.01c1-p6 [1.00a034]
Memory: 256 MB [2.5-3-3-7]

We had an improper shutdown due to power outage and then users were not able to access the file share. The unit had to be joined back to the domain. The domain controller bears this message:

While processing a TGS request for the target server cifs/xxxxxx.xxxxx.xxxxxx.com, the account xxxxx$@xxxx.xxxxx.COM did not have a suitable key for generating a Kerberos ticket (the missing key has an ID of 8). The requested etypes were 16. The accounts available etypes were 23 -133 -128 3 1.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Do you know what caused this error and how to prevent it from happening again?

Thanks,
Brenda

Removed the serial number and ADS names.

Generally most kerberos errors we come across tend to be related to time sync issues, I would advise checking to make sure they're still correct.
