Bought a new Mac, have my time machine backup on ReadyNas Duo. When I started trying to recover the old contents, I first went into time machine and turned it on. It seems like that started to create a new time machine backup using all the settings from the ReadyNas. When I try to recover, all I get is the option to see that brand spanking new recover of my new machine.
When I log into the readynas with the readynas username for the backup, I can see the volume and sparsebundle with my old backups, all my old apps, docs etc. inside that I want to restore. Strangely, I can't see a new one.
How the hell do I get migration assistant to see the old backups?
It's also being extremely temperamental about holding the connection and showing the contents of the volume. When I select the AFP share if it uses the cached credentials it doesn't show me the sparse bundle. If I disconnect and reconnect it does show me the sparse bundle. But now it's not opening the sparse bundle to show me the contents... Hmmm. Reboot?
Ideas appreciated.
