Shares keep disconnecting

I have a ReadyNAS NV+ which I access from several XP machines and my media machine, a Mac Mini. At times, my NAS shares refuse to stay connected. I'll mount the share and within 2 minutes, I can't access it, any running app freezes as it tries to find the share files and eventually I get a message that the NAS has closed down. Restarts don't seem to fix the problem and then at some unspecific time later, I'm able to connect to the share and it stays connected for a while.

I also have a problem of the shares disconnecting from time to time for no apparent reason, and during those times, a reconnect works, but I never used to have the problem of shares just disconnecting like this.

Any help?

What version of Raidiator Firmware are you using?

Does this happen with AFP and SMB shares?

When you say restart do you mean reboot the nas?

When you say restart do you mean reboot the nas? No, I mean restarting the mini. However, restarting the nas doesn't help either, as I just restarted it yesterday and had another disconnect just a short while ago.
