Can't upgrade RAIDar

So, I can't upgrade RAIDar.

I posted about 1 year ago with this issue, but nobody was able to help me (see http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=57843&p=326798#p326798

Basically, I just get an error message that I don't have write permissions for the directory.

Anybody able to help?

You still can't upgrade to RAIDar 4.3.4?: http://www.readynas.com/downloads

Have you tried using Disk Utility to repair permissions on your disk? I think you may need to run Disk Utility from the recovery partition to do this (not sure).

For some reason I've had problems installing also with no error messages, the installer triggers then nothing happens and no file to force quit in the finder.
I'm using OSX 10.5.8 and I've downloaded 4.3.4 from http://www.readynas.com/downloads.
Shall try running repair permissions and re post.

Update to 10.6 (if you can) or use an old version of RAIDar (search the forum)

The latest RAIDar uses a newer version of Java than what's available for Leopard

Unless your Mac can't run Snow Leopard there's no reason really not to upgrade. Snow Leopard is better than Leopard.

Our Snow Leopard machines are a lot slower connecting to our ready nas nv+ than the Leopard machine - I think because the Leopard machine is not getting the full file info
The PC's are damn fast - I guess the Macs just dont like our nv+ even with all mac friendly options turned on.

What version of RAIDiator is on your ReadyNAS?

For Snow Leopard you should update to 4.1.7. 4.1.8 has poor performance (fixed in 4.1.9 betas)
