Backups fail due to ".AppleDouble" file existing

Postby petercherry » Thu Jul 05, 2012 9:50 pm

Hi Guys,

Have set a new topic as although I can find other posts on this subject from a year ago I cant see a solution - hope you guys can help

Have just set up frontview backups to a new WD 3TB external USB drive from my RN pioneer Pro running 4.2.21

I formatted the USB drive through frontview to Ext3 and have set a number of backup jobs - a number of which have completed successfully.

Two jobs are failing (well the alert says they have failed but all data seems to have copied) due to an .AppleDouble file on the destination drive. I cannot find a solution for this in any of the posts and I am keen to ensure that the job completes correctly every time - can anyone assist.

I have posted the message from the alert below:-

"Error encountered copying data from source path /Pictures ==> /WD_Backup_3tb//NAS Backup/Pictures due to unknown reason. Please see log.
cp: cannot create directory '/WD_Backup_3tb//NAS Backup/Pictures/./Shared Pictures/.AppleDouble': File exists"

Thanks in advance!
