Rsync between 2 Pro Business models (4.2.21)

Postby qpaustin » Sat Jul 14, 2012 10:31 am

I have 2 Readynas Pro Business Edition units. Both identical configuration with 4.2.21 firmware. I've tried to initiate a push Rsync from a user home share to a Rsync share on the receiving NAS. It starts and stops with no errors in the log and nothing transfers. I've also tried pulling, same results.

After working with tech support on case 18578069, their advice was to do a OS Reinstall. I've done that now and am now having the same problems. I've just logged a new case after the OS Reinstall - case 18981698.

I've also tried to do the initial backup as NFS. Same results. Anything I'm missing?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Do you have the same users and groups with UIDs and GIDs on each NAS?

NB: A ReadyNas is not an excuse not to have a backup. Fire, theft, multiple disk failures, other hardware failure, floods, user negligence etc. can all result in loss of data.
