To further complicate things, we used to count start, stop, and parity bits so a byte could be 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 bits. Don't know if it works the same on ethernet as it did with modems.

I can't download the file; it says it's been downloaded too many times. I can't find it on the torrents, could someone post an alternative link?

Hiya...

I haven't tried a movie on the TV with the PS3 since I first tested it, but when using the PS3 for a DVD last night I got an error message about the PS3 being unable to make a DLNA connection to the NAS.???

I did find and updated the ReadyNAS DLNA software..don't know if that broke the connection as I hadn't done anything on the PS3 end to add the Pro, if I remember right?

I downloaded the new PMS (Thanks!) but don't know if I should add it until I get the PS3 and the Pro talking again.

As an aside, anything new on the Boxee front. It is January and it doesn't appear to be shipping yet.

Thanks!

Thanks latitudehopper :)

I've uploaded it to this free site, so you don't have to use bandwidth:

I get an invalid checksum error when I try to install that bin.

This is my first post. I love my ReadyNAS NVX but using ReadyDLNA over Wifi G produces choppy video on my PS3. I understand using a direct Ethernet connection would work but since my PS3 is two floors away in my house that is not an option.

Is the PS3 Media Server a more efficient streamer? Does it buffer better than ReadyDLNA does? I am just seeing if I should install this or not if it will allow me to stream 1080 quality video over my WIFI G connection.

Any opinions would be welcome!

Do you like Twonky better? Actually over the weekend I upgraded to Firmware 4.2.9 and I updated my Netgear Router WRND3700 with its latest firmware and my PS3 streaming over ReadyDNLA improved greatly after that! I was able to watch an entire movie without skipping last night and I was very happy.

So I am not sure whether it was the router firmware or the ReadyNas 4.2.9 firmware update that helped or a combination of both.

I do. I think it is faster and I prefer the way it manages file trees over the built in client. Also you have more control over the entire operation. As soon as they initiate video transcoding I will wet myself with joy.

Hey Guys, It is great to see that someone has taken the time and effort to port this over to the Pro. I posted a request on PS3 media servers forum about a year ago and never heard anything back.
I am sorry to say that even after upgrading to 2GB of ram the Pro Pioneer just cant seem to transcode a 1080p.mkv, it just pops up with file corrupted. I am going to try running a few of them through mkv.vob and see if that fixes the problem but i wont convert all of my library as i want to retain the original .mkv format and DTS sound.

But if you can reupload this again (i have problem with old one download of this v1.1), i will try to uninstal both then install v1.1 uninstall and install again v2.1, maybe its the way for my "PMSFORREADYNAS" problem.
In frontview i dont see "PMSFORRAEDYNAS" share, and when i'm trying to create this share saying "share already exist".
It's a log: "The paths for the shares listed below could not be found. Typically, this occurs when the ReadyNAS is unable to access the data volume. PMSFORREADYNAS".
Indicator light is fine but PS3 still don't "see" server.

Just like petese i have a ReadyNAS NVX and my PS3 also doesn't see the PMS Server. Is this addon not compatible with the NVX?
