"Invalid Image" when installing add-ons

Postby Desperado » Mon Mar 02, 2009 5:41 pm

I downloaded the Bittorrent add-on (BitTorrent_1.3-x86.bin) from this site to my PC, and I keep getting an "invalid image" error when I try installing it through Frontview. I tried the ReadyNAS Photo add-on as well and got the same error. Any idea what I'm doing wrong??

Try rebooting your NAS before installing the add-on. This happened to me once before when trying to install an add-on.

I tried re-downloading the file, but that didn't work. I rebooted and the add-on installed.

Firmware is 4.2.1. I guess I should update.

Rebooting seemed to do the trick - but why would I have to reboot before installing the add-on??

Anyway, thanks!!

Let us know if you encounter the issue again in 4.2.3+.

Update: Today I tried installing the PHP_1.1.bin add-on, and I'm still getting the Invalid Image error. This time rebooting didn't work. I'm running Radiator v4.2.3.

That filename is for the Sparc PHP add-on. Make sure you are using the x86/Pro add-on, you cannot mix the architectures, viewtopic.php?f=48&t=21743

Aha! That worked, but only after I rebooted. Thanks.
