I've got to the point where I realised that TwonkyMedia Server 5 was pretty much responsible for all the problems I've been having with my NAS. So I decided to remove it and try TM 4 to see if that would be any better (read reports either way).
However, I can't seem to remove it. I even tried a firmware reinstall - it reset my password but all the addons are still there! It did seem to remove my SSH access though.
Is there any way to do a firmware reinstall that will remove Twonky, Transmission etc (i.e. all addons) that won't also be a destructive reset on the /c/ partition?
Firmware is [1.00a042] which I think is Raidiator 4.1.4. I've tried clicking the remove button in FrontView - it just removes the text for Twonky but leaves the grey frame and the remove button is still available.
I even tried turning it off by deselecting it and clicking save - it went grey, but then when I went back in it was green even though the button was deselected.
I don't have shell access as I can't even upload the EnableRootSSH.bin file - it says "local file upload failed".
Really don't want to do a destructive reset again as it took ages to copy all the files over before - is there any way to do a firmware upload that will remove all the addons and reset the device to default without losing the data on the /c/ volume?
OK, I've run the bash script - it completed very quickly and I still had loads of twonky processes running after the script completed. Twonky was still listed in FrontView, but I'm rebooting now just to check if that will fix it.
Twonky doesn't seem to be running (I don't have the almost 1GB memory usage I had before and there's no twonky processes appearing in top) but it's still listed on the FrontView installed add-ons page.
