utorrent for X86 2.2.01

Apparently they stopped building Debian. The Ubuntu 64 bit versions now require the new glibc. So the only newish one that runs is the 64bit one that I posted instructions on how to get going, but it's only for units with 64 bit support. Fortunately it runs pretty well. Once in a while I was getting a crash on starting a torrent download from a URL that I was doing from my iPad. I switched to using Dropbox into a directory that utorrent watches and auto downloads and that is working well. I think there may be an older 3.0 32 bit version that someone else posted a link to though.

DSM, I stepped in to a problem on the way.

# Build 64 bit ssl shared libs
Download the big netgear GPL source archive for 4.2.19 and extract the openssl directory.
cd to the openssl directory
chmod +x util/*.sh
./config shared
make
make test
make install

This part gave out error after ./config shared
First not permision, changed directory permissions, then error "sh: make: command not found" at ./config shared.

Have any idea?

Sorry, I've been away. I think the error is saying it can't find the "make" command. Did you install the build environment? I don't recall if I included that in my instructions or if I "assumed" it. You get this by running:

apt-get install build-essential

Fwiw, I have much faster Internet access now than I did a year ago so I thought I'd try transmission again. For the same files I'm getting much faster rates with transmission. Not sure why but I've switched back to that now. Maybe transmission is just better at high speeds? I've got a 50Mbit/s connection and with transmission I'm seeing 6MB/s transfers! I never can get utorrent over ~2.8MB/s. Even if transmission is reporting the rates wrong I'm still getting the files in much less time by wall clock.

i load a torrent with another torrent client. now i want to seed the file with utorrent, but it does not checking the file.... it shows an error...

but if delete the file and download the torrent directly with utorrent, it starts instantly....

I can't even install version 2.0.02 on the ultra 2. I had 1.8.0 working then it started seg faulting when trying to load a torrent (this was after it had filled up my OS partition and I had to rectify that, what a drama).

[Correction] It did install, but looked like it had hung. Now won't launch, popup window opens but stays blank.

Aaaargh, now I can't uninstall it. I really want to use uTorrent, I don't link the Transmission interface and it's lacking features.

Is anyone still developing this thing? I wonder if there is source code available that I can have a look at?
