Oddly, when I purchased it, it said the amount paid is not sufficient for products ordered.

I guess I will buy it again, and ask for a refund.

Guess you were the lucky guy who ordered just the minute the switch was done.

Yep, I have been waiting for the update.

I have paid 2.49 and then 2.99, I installed it, and enabled the global dropbox, but was not given any prompt to connect it to "my dropbox account". How do I get it to prompt the connection?

Have a read of http://readynasxtras.com/readynas-x86-add-ons/dropbox-x86

You have to click on a button to the left of the disable button to generate the connection link to link the global dropbox to an account.

I did RTM, but it never kicks in with that connection prompt. I don't want private DBs just Global.

There's a button you have to click. Have another look at the instructions. If you can't see the button try clearing your web browser cache, closing Frontview then reopen it again.

Particularly look at this image:

if you look at the image in my prior post, you will see I don't have that button. I think I am using a different version than you. I guess I will need WhoCares?

mine has the link, however when the dialog pops up there is no way to navigate the provided url, or even copy/paste it. (chromedev or ie9).

So this is a clean install of the Dropbox 0.9.7 add-on and it's not linked to your Dropbox account?

I never had this addon prior to today. It is not linked (as I have never input my dropbox userid anywhere)

I have tried both chrome or safari.

Not sure why it's not working for you. It worked for me when I installed this version recently using Safari on my Mac.

Try going to Safari > Empty Cache, empty the cache, reopen Frontview and go to the Add-on page and see if it's any different.

If you have SSH access you can get the link by doing
Code: Select all
MDGM-NAS:~# cat /tmp/dropbox.admin

Note it down some place I guess e.g. in a text editor then copy/paste from there?

Yes, or type it directly into the address bar of a separate browser window.

However the instructions explicitly say to copy/paste, like you are supposed to copy/paste from the dialog.

It would be much better if the link button just opened the url directly, like clicking 'donate via paypal' or 'manage addon-so-and-so' buttons do.

maybe i am daft, but I ssh'd into the box and typed/pasted the code:

Code: Select all
cat /tmp/dropbox.admin

What happens then?

Code: Select all
AMRivlin-2:~ andrewrivlin$ ssh root@192.168.1.100
root@192.168.1.100's password:
