4.2.3 T49: Display turns off by itself

Postby beisser » Sat Dec 06, 2008 4:35 am

ever since installing t49 beta, the oled display turns itself completely off after a while. pressing the powerbutton once reactivates it. also errors reactivate it as well.

is this intended? with 4.2.1 the display stays on permanently (dimmed) and displays the free space.

Presumably this is new feature 7...

7. LCD now turns off to prevent burn-in. Press the Pwr button to turn the LCD back on. If there's any abnormal status, LCD will stay on.

I miss having the lights on all the time.

It was added the next day by yours truly after I remember to put that in 8) There is a backdoor way to make it dim again, but our hardware guru suggests that turning off is probably a better idea to avoid any long-term shadow effect on the OLED.

I have the problem that the display doesn't turn off.

I have the latest firmware installed and it used to work. But since last reboot it doesn't work anymore.

All I did was changing the CPU fan because after 3 weeks of beiing in use it already began to fail.
Checking the status says everything ok.

Any ideas?

will this be settable on the nvx as it doesn't use OLED?
