T28, T32 hangs

Postby alexofindy » Fri Feb 03, 2012 7:19 pm

I have a readynas Ultra 6 plus with 3 drives. I installed T28 about a week ago, and about 96 hours later the system hung. It simply stopped responding, and I had to power down and then power up. My disks seemed fine - no Smart errors. Nothing in the main system log.

I installed T32 last night. Tonight, about 23 hours later, it hung again. Unresponsive, unable to access Frontview, and the OLED was blank. I rebooted. Nothing in the main system log. this time, one of my 3 disks, a one-month-old Seagate ST33000651AS shows a bad block count of 2. I'm pretty sure it was zero yesterday. don't know if this was related to the hang, either as cause or effect.

Any clues? I may just go back to production firmware. Also, any advice on the drive? Obviously, it's still under warranty - should I replace it? (My array is single disk redundant, and I do backup my critical data, but hey, who likes to lose a drive?)
