Ok, after upgrading to this RC, I can no longer log into my ReadyNAS Photos homepage. The login page shows up, I enter the password and hit Enter. The result is an endless hourglass from the browser with no result. As a test, I tried this on two machines - a Windows XP PC (Firefox & IE) and a Mac (Safari under OS X Snow Leopard). Both have the same effect.

Now I also have a VM ware image of Windows 7 on the Mac, with the older ReadyNAS client installed. Tried that and it still worked! I could get into the homepage. It seems there is a problem with the upgraded software, and it does not appear to be related to the PC it is installed on (as I was able to repro on both a PC and Mac).

Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi, after some correspondences and activity, it looks like my access has been fixed. Thanks to everyone for all the help!

However I noticed some "side effects"?

One album that was recently imported and shared, appears to be missing. I checked the shared email link and it still works though, so apparently the album still exists.

However I have not really explored too much with 2.0 RC1 yet, so maybe I'm looking at the wrong screen or something?

Thanks.

I just tried to re-import this album, and when completed I noticed there was a Failure message. Viewing the details showed the following:

Error resizing image [path of image file + file name]. This file will not be imported to ReadyNASPhotos. The original file may be copied to NAS device, but user will not be able to reach it using ReadyNASPhotos software. Exception :java.lang.NullPointerException

So no one has any idea how this occurred? Is there a database corruption going on? I saw someone else on this forum post a similar error and they needed some private help to resolve. Is that going to be the case for my system as well?

I'm still unable to import these photos or if they already exist (as the shared links still work), get them to appear in my album view.

Thanks.

I dont think there is Database corruption. There seems to be a failure in the resizing of the photo. Can you send me the logs from the ReadyNAS Photos installation. The photo whose resizing failed will also help. Can you send this photo also to me, if its not much of a problem.

Hi Minerva,

No problem, I'll send both the logs and a photo later today. All 73 photos failed to resize so I assume a sample photo from that batch should help?

Thanks for the help.

Hi, I might have found a bug in this RC1.

I tried to import an album using "Sync Existing Albums" -- and the album I wanted to add was imported in an unexpected (and basically incorrect) spot. Normally I organize my photos by year, and then by event in that year. For example:

2010
- Trip to Las Vegas
- Brother's B-day party

2009
- Ski trip at Mammoth
- Sister's baby shower

2008
...

And the albums are imported in the same structure, which is expected. However I just added one album, and using the example above was located like this on my hard drive (before import):

2010
- Trip to Las Vegas
- Brother's B-day party
- Misc pics
-- January <<<< NEW

So "January" is the new folder which is one level lower than the rest (underneath "Misc pics"). For the import I selected and added 2010 in the import dialog, and checked "Sync Existing Albums". What came up when the import was completed and I logged into ReadyNAS Photos was this:

Misc Pics, 2010, 2009, 2008 ...

It didn't even take in the name "January", but the name of the parent folder "Misc Pics" ... and all the photos were in there. Again, the only steps I took were to select and add 2010 in the import dialog, and check "Sync Existing Albums". I expected to see just:

2010, 2009, 2008 ... and within 2010 I would see:

2010
- Trip to Las Vegas
- Brother's B-day party
- Misc pics
-- January <<< SHOULD BE HERE, NOT AT TOP LEVEL WITH PARENT FOLDER'S NAME

... and within January would be the pics. I think this is a bug... Unless I'm missing something?

I have addon ReadyNAS Photos 2.2 on DUO and for Windows ReadyNAS Photos 2.0 RC1.
I use Windows 7 Ultimate x64 bit version. On DUO I have RAIDiator 4.1.7 T29.

I am having problem when importing album and then when I delete it in the Windowss ReadyNAS Photos 2.0 RC1 and then if I wont to import one more time the same album, it wont import it (I get 0 photos added and I dont see the album).
I have to remove the ReadyNAS Photos 2.2 on DUO and the install it again to add the album.

Also one big future request in ReadyNAS Photos 2.0 for Windows:
- I would like to move one album to the left or right or at the end or front or rendom location. Now I need to delete the album to have the right order of the albums, if I didnt sort them right at the begining. In my album it could the a function to sort the album like anyone wonts. You could select and move the album where you wont. Or you could add that when you select the album you have two buttons to move back or in front of other album (option to more move clicks).

Regards.

guess i will wait on the upgrade.... Just started using the photo sharing app, and I am just a little tired of making things work for me. It works well enough for me now... I do like some of the upgrades and new features that have been added. After seeing posts from others, I just dont have the time to make it work...

I will however, watch over the forum and will test at a later date. I have features in mind already... :)

Minerva or Chripa: ETA on the update? This RC has been around since last year.....

Thank you to all who are testing to make it a wonderful app. I LOVE MY DUO!!!
