How do i recover from the mirror drive?

Postby herba » Wed Jun 13, 2012 9:03 am

Hey guys!

Dad tried to copy paste all the content on the drive to the computer, when he saw it would take a long time he pressed the cancel button, this lead to all of the data dissapearing.

How do i recover the main disk from the mirror disk? He bought it yesturday and has not done any backups or anything as far as i know

thanks

Hi Herb,

May i ask if you have the ReadyNAS Vault service and backed up your data?

Doesn't sound like they have Vault, wrong forum posting?

RAID does not protect against deletes and such, only disk failure. If you deleted the files, they are most likely gone. You can contact Tech Support regarding data recovery if you have no backups, but there would be a fee associated to it. If you delete files, they would be deleted from both disks, thats how a mirror works.
