Backup didn't backup anything

Postby Quazaka » Wed Jul 11, 2012 5:45 am

What is the fastest way to move approx 300gb from a HDD to my ReadyNas Duo V2?
I have read that the fastest way is to connect my HDD to the usb port and then make a "backup" for it.
Tried it. RAIDar said it was doing something, and i couldn't access my NAS the entire time. I then got a email said it might be stalled (after approx 4 hours)
"A previous run of backup job is still running. Check if that backup job has stalled, or you may need to adjust the backup interval to account for the amount of data you are backing up."

I did nothing because i knew there was such a big amount of data. I now (17 hours since start) see my NAS is still empty.
And i can hear the HDD has stopped reading/writing.
What have i done wrong?
Is there any other way fast to move the files?

I transfer at a rate of 700KB/sec from my HDD -> PC(wireless) -> NAS
I transfer at a rate of 1.3MB/sec from PC(wireless) -> NAS

There must be a faster way...
It will take me 90 hours this way.

Wrieless is slow, do you have 1GB LAN?
Connect USB HDD to NAS, then Create a backup JOB, the source is your USB HDD,and the destination is share folder(backup or media).
