NV+ Booting to Disk Lights 1 and 3 Ticket:17258000

Good evening,

Since a power blip this morning when I try to boot my ReadyNAS NV+ The power light flashes for about 5 seconds then disk lights #1 and #3 come on steady and nothing else changes. Reading through the forum and looking up the activity lights it seems as if there is a good chance that my boot sector is damaged (not surprising after a power failure). So I downloaded the TFTP software and went through the readme, however when trying to boot the device by holding the power button I get no difference in the lights, there is no second flashing of the disk lights, no matter how long I hold the power button for. Also the fans seem to be running full tilt during this process and the only way to power it off is to pull the power.

So a little more digging suggested that it may need the Memory reseated, which I did, same process on boot. Unable to get it to boot in a manner that would let me attempt an TFTP fix. The device also does not show up on RAIDar.

So I'm at a loss, I would really like to not lose all the data on the drive because I do not have a backup (shame on me). I guess there is a possibility that the memory module is toast as well. But I don't seem certain that it is the case. I've opened a support ticket which I've put in the title. If anyone else sees this and can give me any idea's to try that would be fantastic.

Thanks in advance.

NB: A ReadyNas is not an excuse not to have a backup. Fire, theft, multiple disk failures, other hardware failure, floods, user negligence etc. can all result in loss of data.

Thanks, I saw it but wasn't sure if I should or not, either way the ReadyNAS still won't do anything but boot and display the lights on Disk 1 and 3, no matter how long I hold the power button there is no flashing of any other lights that happens. I even counted to 20 and let go as the instructions say, however nothing else happens.

Is there a link anywhere to the 4.1.8 firmware? That page only has up to 4.1.7.

Thanks...
