Cannot access Dashboard - connection times out

Postby emobadger » Sat Jul 07, 2012 8:35 am

Hi,

The power in my apartment tripped the other day (for the first time in the 2 years I've lived here) and my ReadyNAS Duo v2 was on at that time. Since then I cannot seem to access Dashboard, my browser just times out...

The strange thing is all the shares are still accessible over the network and the ReadyDNLA service appears to still be running as usual. So it still works, I just cant access the Dashboard!
I have tried turning off the unit and using the Boot Menu to reinstall the OS 3 times now, but it seems to have absolutely no effect as RAIDar tells me it is still running 5.3.5.

I spend over 2 weeks adding and organising all the data on my drive so would prefer not to have to do a complete Factory reset if at all possible.
I've had my ReadyNASDuo v2 for just a month or so now, I had so many issues to begin with until the release of 5.3.5 - which was a godsend, I thought all my problems were over.... until now!

I only have the one drive installed so far which is a 2TB Western Digital Caviar Green, model: WD20EARS

I hope someone here can guide me to a fix for this?

ps. The thing that worries me the most is what if I get another power trip/cut in the future and I have to spend another 2/3 weeks backing up my data to the NAS?
Even if I had two drives in there for redundancy, wouldn't I still have this same issue? If I didn't have my data still on another device (my pc) and this happened again, would I lose all that? :(

OS reinstall resets some settings on your unit, such as Internet protocol settings and the administrator password, to defaults.
what ip address does raidar report and what ip address is browser showing when you try to connect ?
try clearing your browsers cache.

Dude, you are a GENIUS! I feel so stupid. I didn't even think about the IP address changing.

A BIG THANKS! It works, and all seems to be well! I cannot tell you how relieved I am.

+karma for you.

Glad to help it was a good indication when you said all the shares are still accessible over the network and the ReadyDNLA service appears to still be running as usual, nice to see you are all ok.
