Free Space Issues

Postby JasBird » Wed Feb 15, 2012 5:08 pm

I have a Netgear ReadyNAS NV+. I put two 2 tb hard drives and one 500 gb hard drive and did the setup and initialization. I quickly figured out that this was not a good use of space so I bought and installed two more 2 tb hard drives. The drives initialized and expanded but it's only showing 1.3 tb free? Shouldn't there be close to 6 tb free? Not sure that it matters but the first two hard drives had old data from my old computer on them so they weren't formatted. I did a factory reset by pushing the button on the back but when it reboots nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What version of RAIDiator were you running when you did the initial install?

Make sure you are running 4.1.7 or later then go to System > Update > Factory Default

NB: A ReadyNas is not an excuse not to have a backup. Fire, theft, multiple disk failures, other hardware failure, floods, user negligence etc. can all result in loss of data.
