Q4 ProSafe ReadyNas Promotion/Rebate status

Postby hnataraj » Sun Dec 30, 2007 2:04 pm

I purchased a ReadyNAS RND4250 product from one of the authorized resellers (newegg) and submitted the rebate form to receive the free Baracuda HD.

It has been over 8 weeks, and I haven't received any info.

I checked online on netgearrebates and on the phone (888-214-9109). But none of these have any idea of my rebate status.

Apparently this "SMB Q407 ReadyNas Gift w/Purchase" isn't being tracked by the standard NETGEAR rebate processing center.

Is there an online site or another phone number to call to track this rebate?

I'm also in the same boat. I purchased from newegg and submitted my rebate form about 10 weeks ago without hearing anything yet.

Q4 ProSafe ReadyNas Promotion/Rebate status

Postby twatkins » Sat Jan 12, 2008 4:54 pm

I thought it was just me having this issue. It sort of makes me fell a bit better that it is not just me.

I ended up calling NetGear in Santa Clara, CA this week. After nearly 10 weeks and half a dozen phone calls, all they can say is my rebate was received, just entered the processing stage, and the drive should ship in a few weeks but could not say when. Netgear-Santa Clara did acknowledge that it was posted marked 11/9/2007 and had no reason for the delays in processing.

No one seemed to care that the information given on the rebate form is all wrong. You cannot call the number given and get any type of useful info. The website given does not track this promotion either.

This promotion has been handled very poorly.

I thought I was the only person with problems regarding SMB 4Q07 as well!!!

I also found the form had the incorrect contact details, the Texas clearing house for Netgear rebates, however, this promotion was to be mailed directly to the Netgear HQ.

I have already spent over 3 hours on e-mails and phone calls, stuck in voice jail and being sent around the block trying to find a live body inside the Netgear HQ. Almost every phone connection is transfered to a call center outside the country!!

I have finally found my way to a reliable source in HQ and it appears they are in fact aware of the form being incorrect. I did mention that if customers were not contacted regarding the forms being received, it would be helpful to follow up so the customer base can at least know the material was not dropped in a black hole somewhere and re-submittal is not required.

If I get any decent contact info, I will try to post it for others.

3 drive Ready NAS waiting on the 4th!

jfoj, The best way is to make an online ticket as I posted above. They will get back to you with the status.

Thanks for the update. I just found this thread after I got off the phone with Santa Clara.

I had submitted via the Netgear web site no less than 3 times, maybe not the link you had provided, and everything kept getting routed to the Texas clearing house. Problem is, myself and others, followed the correct path to nowhere via e-mail, web site checks and phone calls!

This promotion is not a rebate and it was to be handled by Santa Clara, CA not the Texas clearing house. At least the Texas clearing house was responsive, but only with what they were aware of.

To make matters worse, I also had a $10 rebate recently submitted to the Texas clearing house, so they just kept referencing that rebate for all my inquiries.

If this was only for a $10 rebate, I would not waste any of my time on following up, however, this is for a $150 hard drive! Different story IMHO.

I will see if I get a reply via the web site link you posted, however, I will probably hear back by phone before the web inquiry is processed?

Thanks for your assistance, I am just rather frustrated about the time I had to waste most likey due to someone not following up about the paperwork being received!

I am sure if the Texas clearing house failed to follow up, Netgear would be looking for a new group to process their rebates!

Has anyone heard anything on this? Based on the input from Chirpa, I have now submitted my information to the Netgear customer service website, we'll see what happens.

The form I filled out looked frighteningly like the customer service form for http://www.rebateshq.com, which, insofar as I can tell, has never heard of Infrant.

I have contacted Netgear 3 different ways:

I tried checking my status at http://www.netgearrebates.com and found that the ReadyNAS was not listed so I submitted a request through their online form. This is the response I received:

Dear David:

Thank you for contacting the Rebate Center. Unfortunately, we are not able to answer your question as we only have information about rebates available to us. Please contact the store for the assistance you requested.

If there is anything else we can do to assist you, please contact us at netgear.rebateinfo@netgear.com. We are always happy to help.

Lisbet
Promotions Customer Service

Next, I received a PM from one of the Jedi Council with a name and number to call, but I never received a reply to my voice mail.

I have also recently filled out the request form at Netgear support and received this reply:
Hello David, my name is Brad from NETGEAR 2nd level Technical Support. I have reviewed the listed case notes.

David, we do have a rebate center I could refer you to but I do not know if they would be handling the NAS line as of yet.

I will pass your inquiry on and we will get back to you when we know where to point you to. The Technical support office does have any access or input in to rebates.

You will hear as soon as I do.

Thank You for choosing NETGEAR,

Brad, W.
Second Level Escalation
NETGEAR, Inc.

If I hear anything, I will post my results here.

Try the link Chirpa listed in this post above. This seems to be a different link or avenue than the typical rebate paper chase that redirects to the wrong location. Chirpa will typically try to follow it up as well if he has time?? Also check your PM's on this forum to see if anyone has attempted to contact you.

Assuming Netgear has your original submission, I was told that they should start shipping hard drives sometime this week? Again, assuming there are no other delays, this is the info I was provided and at this point I will have to take their word on it.

My paperwork was submitted in early November and I had never heard anything until I finally escalated this within Netgear, however, Chirpa also followed up as well on my behalf once I posted on this thread.

FWIW, the orginal Netgear forms had the wrong contact info for follow up, which is for the Texas clearing house that deals with rebates, they are totally unaware of the promotions that were directed to the Netgear HQ address. Yes there were a number of different promotions that were to be sent directly to the Netgear HQ. Assume this was some sloppy cut and paste on someones part.

Problem is, everything on Netgear's site that references Rebates (which this is not, but the closest thing) directs you to the Texas clearing house. Can you say merry go round!!

Anyway, at this point, what everyone needs to confirm is if Netgear actually received the original submission of the paperwork. Once they have confirmed they have the paperwork, it is up to them to get the hard drives shipped out, hopefully in the near future.

I just hope they are the same hard drives that the Ready NAS came with and not some lesser item??

2 months without a follow up with the customer, wish I could keep my job if I ran a program like this!!

I also received a PM from Chirpa from my original post earlier in this discussion with a name and number to call. I got through on my first attempt and was told that the drives were arriving in a few weeks and would be sent out to us after that. The contact actually verified my information on the rebate with only my name supplied, so I'm sure they are collecting and processing our rebates as they arrive. It seems to be a delay on Netgear receiving the drives which is causing the delays and holding up shipments to the submitted rebates. Also, from another post in the forum, the promotion drives are the same Seagate drives which are pre-installed in the NV+.

What a pain

Postby subs » Thu Jan 31, 2008 9:31 pm

I've been going on the same merry-go-round for a week now. I mailed it in, I emailed them copies of my invoice and the rebate form, and then they asked for more information. Information which was on what I already mailed them, and never mind that the address I mailed to seemed to bounce. Sometimes.

Will post if I hear anything back either. Nothing to add- same story as you all.
