What's this then? It's starting to pop up in webshops but I can't find any news or reviews of it. Or any mention of in on netgear.com.

From what I was able to find through a Google search it looks like a NV+ that has been given a face lift to look like the Duo and Pro.

All of the places that listed it looked to be on the European continent.

From some of the info, it looks like X-RAID 2 is on the NVX, together with dual gigabit ethernet ports with an Intel processor. Pro performance with 4 bays?

http://www.dustinhome.se/pd_5010204894.aspx
Netgear Pro Business [used at home]: 3x Hitachi 2TB 7K2000 & 3x Seagate 'cuda LP 1.5TB
Infrant NV: (rev. B) 3x WD 1TB EADS (used to be in the Pro...)

That was the best information I could find as well. What kind of Intel processor fits in that chassis? An Atom?

Vault and replication are certainly interesting, as neither feature is in the current beta. I've previously asked for replication, so I look forward to seeing this on the Pro as well!

Wonder if they'll dump the NV+ or maybe lower its price??? Oh, and a DuoX would be a nice followup. 8)

Hmm, is that ambiguity from the translation, or is the ReadyNAS Vault accessed via a program that you run on your PC (instead of directly on the NAS)? Kind of like the bundled PC backup program?

I also wonder what Intel CPU it will have. I noticed similar vagueness in the QNAP TS-639 Pro announcement, and it turned out to use an Intel Atom CPU for lower power consumption (with performance almost reaching the TS-509 Pro level, still respectable I guess).

Anyways, thanks for the info.

NVX must be coming soon. Eaegis has now dropped the NV+ diskless price to below $600.

It had better come soon and at a low price point. HP's new server is catching up fast and for around $600 or so it beats hell out of the price of a pioneer.

its amazing how people can speculate. my bet is, that if (!) it comes it wont come this year.
of course i dont have any more info about this but look at the pro.. how soon did they release official info about the pro before it was actually available? 1 year? 1.5? well i havent seen any info about it yet on either netgear.com or readynas.com.. so as far as i am concerned it doesnt exist.

It doesn't exist, correct. However, some Euro websites are already posting info with particulars. Plus, the price for the NV+ is dropping. All indicators are that its coming. When? Who knows, but probably this year.

Netgear really needs this because they are being outclassed by nearly all of their competitors.

As far as price is concerned, I doubt Netgear is motivated by WHS pricing. WHS, while nice, has not had significant market penetration. Initially, several OEM's were expected but few are making boxes. HP is the only one I know that's readily available. I suspect the initial bugs (quite severe I understand) possibly left a sour taste. The fact that Dell does not make one indicates they don't take it seriously. Maybe second gen will be better, if there is a second gen....
