ReadyNAS NV+ email alerts issue

I've been having issues with getting email alerts to go thru...
I've finally been half successful using GMail's SMTP settings... not the main SMTP port (465) they list, but the secondary (587) port.
When I send a test message thru the NAS, I see a message show up in my Sent box on GMail, but there is no address in the To: field, so no Inbox ever receives a message.

Anyone else seen this behavior?

I'm running RAIDiator 4.1.5 firmware.

Yes. There are a number of threads on this issue. You might want to try the latest beta 4.1.6-T20 to see if it helps:

Thanks for the quick reply.
I noticed others having alerts issues, but none that specifically said they were seeing a blank To: field in their sent mail box messages.

I will give the beta a shot.

I got bit by it a few weeks ago, but it is my understanding that it is fixed in the latest beta:

I have had the same problems as the others, but managed to get the Alerts working by using a gmail account (although we have an onsite mail server).

I applied the 4.1.6-T20 firmware upgrade to try to get the problem resolved, but now nothing functions for alerting, not even the gmail solution. The local server (groupwise) also still does not work.

Come on Netgear !! this was all working correctly before 4.1.5

Well I find myself with others! I am running 4.1.6 and I still can not use the SMTP settings to send my alerts! It used to work before 4.1.5, but I am now up to 4.1.6 and it still does not work! I am using cox in my area to "hook" to for my smtp server.

My copier / scanner hooks up to it without ANY issues and it is a"dumber" device than my Ready Nas!

Any ideas for a fix?

Please help!

My email alerts are dead as well. All other internet requests (time servers, firmware updates) work fine.

- Any news on why this is broken?

Readynas NV+, 4.1.6
