Readynas Duo - Insert new Cooler

Postby xshooterstarx » Sat Aug 04, 2012 7:50 am

Hey,

this is my first post - so please forgive me if it's the wrong area.

I post here in the English section (I'm from Austria / Europe), because I think I get an answer much sooner.

Have the ReadyNAS Duo since about 6 months and am very satisfied with this. Except the very, very loud and annoying fan.

Today i replaced it with a Noiseblocker XR2 - works pretty well. But I noticed that the Noiseblocker fan now is blowing the air into the case.

Is that correct? How do I get a better cooling performance?

If the fan is blowing into the case or if the fan is blowing out from the case?

Thanks in advance.

Hai Stefan,

I guess that the fan is placed in the wrong way, normally the fan must blow the heat out of the case.
Try to turn the fan so that you feel the wind blowing from it.

The mine is also replaced by a noiseblocker, it is a little bit quieter, the only thing I hear is the hd`s that are spinning around.
Good luck!
