Is the AFP service enabled on your NAS? I didn't need to set permissions for the shares via AFP to get them to be seen, but I did have to enable the AFP service in order for the shares to show up, even in FTP mode on the iPhone.

After the 1.3.4 issues i'm not moving off 1.3.5 until i have proof that 1.3.6 will not break Readnas Remote IOS client again.

Now using iPad version 1.3.6 with the new RAIDiator 4.1.9 and still no success: the consistent error is, "Response Invalid"

I confirmed that I'm running the latest Remote add-in. I stopped and restarted the Remote service. I rebooted the ReadyNAS NV+. My ReadyNAS shows up and the app shows "Connected as . . ." with the correct ID, but attempts to connect by WiFi on the same LAN or by 4G consistently fail. I'm set up for CIFS Guest access, which is how I connect using Macs and PCs on my LAN.

To state the obvious, disappointing.

Not sure if this will be of any help but here goes. I just recently configured ReadyNAS remote for a ReadyNAS NV+, and after days of not getting any client working, I now have the mac os and ios client working. To get my iOS client working, like the previous post, I had to disable anonymous FTP for my ftp share on the readynas (i.e. set it to User authentication) and turn off Guest on the iOS app, then it appeared. I kept getting "Invalid command" or something when I left it on CIFS.

Re: ReadyNAS Remote iPad Access denied

Postby HedleyDavidson » Sun Jul 22, 2012 10:50 am

I have readynas duo v2 running radiator v 5.3.5 and add on remote v 1.0.9.81 on the other end is an iPad 3 running readynas remote v 1.3.6 .

From pc or MacBook readynas device works just as advertised BUT from iPad I can connect and SEE the shares but when I try and view the contents of a folder I get " access denied " . After three days messing about I am ready to throw this device in the pond ! .

Any help appreciated .

Has anyone got any updates on this.

Like others, I cannot access my Shares from my iPad, getting the "Error Unable to Login" message against each.

HOWEVER, I have no such trouble with my iPhone, which connects with ease. How can this be?
(it also works from my Windows XP machine)

It suggestst the problem is actually a setting in the iPad, but which one?

I had everything working fine on my iPad until updating the app to v1.3.7. Now although it says I am connected to the NAS (a Duo v2) it will not login to see the shares using any method. Grrrrr

Latest version is v1.5.2

I can't answer for PC or MAC, but it has cured the problem where the iPhone shaes could be seen, but the iPad shares could not be seen.

In fact, I'm a very happy chappie. :D :D

Sometimes, it won't load photos (to view) but I think that is more likely to be the link rather than the App. It just always happens when I really want to show someone a photo quickly.
