Hi, am I right in thinking ReadyDLNA should be able to serve up the metadata that exists in my media folders?

I've just bought a Samsung TV (D7000) and was hoping I could finally take my HTPC out of the loop, but although ReadyDLNA streams the movies. music etc. nicely to the TV, all I can see at the TV end are thumbnails and file names - no movie metadata.

Have I got the wrong idea or should DLNA provide the meta data too?

Also, how do I avoid having all the movies just show up in one folder?

Any advice greatly appreciated.
NV+ Firmware 4.1.7, NVX Firmware 4.2.22, Ultra 4 Plus Firmware 4.2.22, shared with Win7 ethernet network, using Netgear WNDR4000 & Netgear GS108 switch, BT HomeHub v3, DLNA to Samsung UE40ES8000 + Android devices

I get the same issue, would love to know if there's a solution for the Duo?

I would love to understand what readyDLNA can do with metadata on video files (I have all I need on Music, thanks)

First, we need to see debug logs from ReadyDLNA to see what is happening on the back end. You can install the debug toggle addon from here: viewtopic.php?f=76&t=27946

After that, rescan, then try browsing from your client. You can then download the logs via FrontView>Status>Logs>Download All Logs. Follow the 'send all logs' link in my signature below to submit them.

Hi chirpa
Did anyone ever send the logs to you? I'm another frustrated Samsung SmartTV user hoping for metadata to be displayed on screen without the need for a separate PC running.
