Blu Ray LG BD670 crashes when connecting to ReadyNas Duo V2

Postby Linez » Sun May 13, 2012 2:12 am

Hi,

My Blu Ray player LG BD670 can't connect to my Readynas Duo V2.

My systems setup is:
- RAIDiator-arm-5.3.4
- ReadyDLNA is re-activated in the Dashboard(Was turned off for some time, as I didn't use it)
- Updated DLNA to ReadyDLNA_1.0.24.3-arm
- Downloaded and install Toggle_ReadyDLNA_Debug_1.0-arm
- I've re-run the Log file and it's been updated (Items with today's date are visible)

- I also run Logitech Media Server, without issues.
- And still have an Xtreamer Pro running

My Blu Ray connects through WLAN and works fine with the Xtreamer Pro (Xtreamer set as NAS sever and ReadyNas turned off)
The Xtreamer also works fine with the ReadyNas.(Wired connection through hub)

When the ReadyNas is turned on, the Blu Ray player will freeze or crash. Even with Xtreamer turned off or the DLNA function disabled in the Dashboard.
The only way to have a connection with the Blu Ray is to turn off the ReadyNas. (this makes it hard to share the data that's stored on it.)

Can you advise ?

Thx

Firmware updated to RAIDiator-arm 5.3.5 Beta [T28] and the Blu Ray still reboots when it's connecting to ReadyNas only.

Blu Ray can see all other devices in the house (Laptop and Xtreamer Pro), only when ReadyNas is turned OFF.

Any idea ?

I've put in an inquiry to LG, and hopefully I'll get a response from them soon.

It looks like LGE cannot reproduce the problem. They are asking for more information, including:
1.Specific test device name.
2.Your NAS device name.
3.Can you reproduce it every time?
4.What kind of crash? Are there any lock up logs or error number?
... and anything else you feel might be relevant.

Okay, so we went ahead and picked up a BD670 to test with, and I am able to reproduce the problem. However, it appears to have nothing to do with ReadyDLNA. Looks like it's Logitech Media Server that is a the root of this issue. When I disable LMS, or even just disable the LMS DLNA plugin, it works fine.

Skywalker,
Thanks. Can you advise how to disable the LMS and turn it back on ?

Do I need to forward this issue to Logitech, or will this happen through the ReadyNAS-Logitech working relationship.

Thx

You can disable just the UPnP/DLNA plugin by going to the LMS setup page:
http://[nas_address]:9000/settings/index.html
Then go under the Plugins tab, uncheck the box next to UPnP/DLNA Media Interface, and click Apply. When prompted, choose Restart Now.

I'll try and get this sorted between Logitech and LGE.

thanks Skywalker.
Your prosposed work-around is OK for now.

I'll also try to follow it up with Logitech.

Skywalker is already following up with Logitech on the issue.
