can't boot, dead in the water, support gone dark (#9258176)

I'm dead in the water with .5T of valuable data maybe lost forever (as far as I know).

I've had several back-and-forths with call center support. They've stopped answering emails. (They answer, I assume, local time someplace on the other side of the globe, because all responses seem to come between 10pm and 8am PST, which is incredibly inconvenient. And, this may be their weekend or some local holiday or something... I'm pretty unhappy with the quality of responses I've gotten already, and to have them go dark was really disappointing.)

I'm stuck at "Checking FS..." I have a new spare disk. I've determined that I can boot if I remove disk 3 (on ReadyNAS NV), but it reports having lost all of my volumes. It acts the same if I put a new spare disk in.

After several days of screwing around with customer service, I have reset my firmware. I still have the same symptoms (doesn't boot with original Disk 3, boots with no disk or new Disk 3 but can't start xraid and loses all of my volumes).

Can someone suggest a next step?

Exactly what benefit would I expect to derive from RAID, by the way?

Re: can't boot, dead in the water, support gone dark on me

Good news, email support has resurfaced and I was able to get a helpful guy on the phone last night.

Bad news, the situation where I can't boot and can't get at my data continues. I only had an hour to debug and we didn't make any progress.

Email support is asking for logs uploaded to a new location, although I'd already uploaded them to the documented location.

More as it develops.

Even better news: phone call 2 to tech support got someone who seemed to both really know what he was doing (and... didn't treat me like an idiot, which I liked).

Set up to get analysis from the data salvation folks.
