1.60b1 for nv+/duo

So how do we best upgrade to this Version from the current Lite? What's the exact procedure?
Do we get to keep our current running torrents? And our settings, are they compatible?

Hi super-poussin,

I want to set the process will be stop when 100% completed. Could you add the option when ??% to stop the process?

Cheers

Tried 1.60b1 on my Duo for a couple of days, but moved back to 1.59402. Webclient was (when downloading) even more unresponsive and download speed was slower. Upload speed was almost zero.

Of course YMMV

I think he means that he only wants to seed to 1:1.

If you install the new beta version of the plugin, and then install Transmission Remote (here's the Windows version: http://code.google.com/p/transmission-remote-dotnet/ ) you can adjust the seed ratio to your liking.

But I could be wrong; he might mean something else.

I have been using the full transmission 1.59 release, but over the last few days I noticed that new torrents d/l slowly for a few seconds then pause themselves. The error in the right panel is the directory not found or something like that, I am not with my NV+. As far as I know all torrents d/l to a directory called BitTorrent in the media share and and always have this has not been changed. All I changed was the length of time for seeding to 480 hours and the maximum ratio to 4.00. To try and fix this I removed 1.59 full, rebooted then installed 1.60b1lite. I then stopped the client and checked my settings which appear to me to be correct. The problem with new torrents pausing still exists when I start the client and add new .torrent files, can anyone help?

I think I have sorted it I removed Transmission lite, rebooted the NAS. Then made sure the old config files etc. were deleted. Then I installed Transmission 1.59 from the 10/4 and stopped it and corrected the settings file.

I'm running v1.59402Light on a ReadyNAS Duo and I have a few questions.

I have 4 torrents that are still downloading (and have been for a while). If I upgrade to v1.60b1 will these be trashed and I have to start them again ? Do I have to uninstall the earlier version first ?

I've tried to get Transmission Remote DotNet v3.6 working. It seems to have installed correctly and I can see the initial status of the torrents when it starts but when I click on any of them, it crashes with an "Unhandled exception - Object reference not set to an instance of an object". Does anyone have any idea of how I can fix this ?

Just re-read the thread and Binks mentioned installing the beta version with Transmission Remote. Can anyone confirm if this is required or if it will work with earlier versions ?

Thanks ..

I started using Transmission Remote with 1.594Light, so I think it ought to work for the 02 release (I think I skipped that version). You might try the new version of Transmission Remote (they just released 3.7). 3.7 for me comes up with an error every time I right-click; but to do most anything in the interface one can left click or double click, so not much functionality seems to be lost.

As for the Transmission upgrade process, I believe I stopped the application (un-clicked the check box in the add-ons list and hit save) and then loaded the beta. I don't believe I had any torrents in progress at that time; but everything that I had seeding appeared to come back just fine. So, I can't say that that's the absolute right way to do it; but it seemed to work for me.

Thanks Binks.

I've installed Transmission Remote 3.7 with 1.594Light and this works without any errors so far.

I'll have a think about the upgrade as I was going to try shutting down the daemon and copying the torrents and data before upgrading so that I can put it back if it does have a problem. As your seeds came back Ok, it would seem that the settings are preserved.

Hello everyone!

i've just gotten around to installing transmission (1.60light) on my duo. i've run into a few troubles though.

as i add torrent-urls (from mininove) via the web client, none of them show up in the interface.

i tried tracking down the problem, but i can't find any log messages in any of the obvious places, and i seem to be unable to even find the proper startup script for transmission (nothing in init.d?). did teh install go wrong or am i just not getting something?

thanks in advance

I can report that adding them as files seems to work. I don't often use URL... but I'll try a few and see if I can reproduce. :)

Would someone be so kind as to explain how to access/edit the config file for Transmission? I cannot see it in either my media or backup share when browsing the NAS.

The explanation should take into account that I am a Windows user with no real linux/terminal/whatever experience, so take it easy ;)

I have installed 1.60beta 1.

I am particularly interested in setting up the scheduling functionality (ie to have Transmission only run during the night).

Thanks!
