Display order

Postby blueray » Fri Jun 26, 2009 8:59 pm

I may have missed it, but in RC1, is there a way to change the order in which photos are displayed once the album is imported?

Yes, you can re-order photos in an album by File Name, OR Click time, OR Title.

Click Manage Tab and choose the order in which you would like to see the photos.

Click time is when the photo was clicked. This information is derived from the metadata in the JPEG file.

Click Manage Tab and choose the order in which you would like to see the photos.

I've tried to do this but when I click on the manage tab I get a drop down box with 5 options:
New Album, Import photos, remove, Copy, Move.

Also is there a way to change your info (i.e. username, email address, etc.)?

Are you using 2.0 RC1 version of ReadyNAS Photos ? Changing the display order is introduced from this version. "Sort" should be last option in the Manage pull down menu.

Here is the announcement about this version : viewtopic.php?f=58&t=28567

After upgrading to 2.0 RC1, you should see "Update Profile" link just below your avatar in the home page of ReadyNAS Photos clilent.

By accessing this link you can change the email address.

I downloaded the file from here http://www.readynas.com/?page_id=608 which I believe is 2.2. Shouldn't it have the change?

Ahh..thanks minerva. worked like a charm. was also wondering if there will be a future update that will allow you to move the pictures in an album by clicking and dragging it around to the location you want?

Have you looked at the Selection Tray feature?

You can drag and drop the photos you want to move another album into Selection Tray. Then navigate to the album you want to move these photo to, and then select Manage > Move option.

Hope this helps.

My wife is trying to reorder the photos using the manage tab in rc2. She uses the file name selection and that all seems to work ok and the display order is what she wants.

However, when the photos are actually viewed from the client application, the order is different than the order that is displayed in the photo manager application.
What order does the client application use to display the photos?
