Torrents not downloading??

Postby techy96z » Wed Aug 26, 2009 2:53 am

I have some odd things happening but cant figure it out.

Torrents will not download on on NV+...but same torrents will download using Azureus desktop client...but Transmission desktop client does not work. (I know the torrents are working as a friend has tested for me on his system) The torrents all say 0 seeds and 0 peers but Azureus tells me differently. Also, if I try a torrent like OpenOffice, the NV+ will download it just fine.

The really odd thing is yesterday, a couple of torrents started downloading and then 10 minutes later, stopped and I have nothing now.

I just upgraded the firmware to 4.1.6 but at the same time I had a power supply and hard drive fail in the unit.

Any tips?

Thanks!

I have the same trouble as you experience.
My machine is DUO. I used the DUO through Torrents to download so often. After upgrade the 4.1.6 firmware, the trouble come out. All the Torrents are not able to downloading.
I did use the old firmware as 4.1.4. But the problem is still remain.
After read this forum, I found that more and more people like me encounter the same trouble.
However, it seems no solution. I did call support, they said they will like to take a look my NAS through net. However my NAS is for home use and not able to match with their office time.
Still seek for some solutions. We all need help. Please support....

Two possible reasons:

1. Encrypted peers, the default client won't talk to encrypted-only peers.
2. Using PirateBay tracker. They have been down this last week. http://forum.suprbay.org/showthread.php?tid=48712

PirateBay is now up, but they have a new IP. Maybe your ISP:s DNS is not updated?

Alright, I also have this problem now on my Readynas NV+ (4.1.6): downloading anything from thepiratebay.org shows 0 seeds. When using uTorrent on my desktop it works just great - no special port mappings or anything in my firewall. Are they blocking anything than just known torrent clients or what? Downloading from a private tracker works just fine on NV+

Same problem here, although a bit different. Torrents from thepiratebay.org start eventually (does take quite some time though) and others (from bitsoup for example) do never start. For me the difference is that the bitsoup ones contain my id (since you have to log on before you can download so they can monitor your up and down ratio).

Got my ReadyNAS NV+ yesterday, 4.1.6 installed on it.

Anyone got any ideas?

I too have this same problem: showing no activity on 2 of 4 torrents.
New ReadyNAS Duo user and newbie to the "torrent world." I initially started these same 4 torrents through Vuze and then decided to try out the ReadyNAS client as I couldn't leave Vuze open 24/7. These same 4 torrents are working through Vuze with only 2 of them working through the ReadyNAS Duo.
History: couldn't get any internet to the ReadyNAS Duo until I called customer support. Now, web access confirmed by both the remote update option working and 2 torrents working. After that phone call, all 4 torrents working. A couple of days ago, I lost my internet connection for a few hours. Ever since, these torrents have stopped working. I've stopped them and restarted them several times. I've rebooted the ReadyNAS. I've even tried to reload the torrents. With no luck.
I'm about to try the Transmission add-on, but I'd rather not loose the time spent so far (~25% of a 20GB download x 2 files)
Thanks in advance.

System:
iMac
ReadyNAS Duo with the latest firmware (4.1.6) and BT client (1.3)

Well, I have switched to Transmission and have not regretted that so far. Uploading appeared to not work, but that was due to the fact that I had unpopular torrents ;-). Keep in mind that Transmission uses another TCP port than the BitTorrent add-on, so you might want to add that port to your router setup.
