cannot resize Snapshot reserve on ReadyNAS Pro

Postby brandy1979 » Fri Nov 13, 2009 12:36 am

Hi,
I cannot resize the snapshot reserve on a ReadyNAS Pro after replacing one 500GB disk with 1500GB.
old config: 3x 500GB, 3x 1500GB
new config: 2x 500GB, 4x 1500GB
After resync and restripe (two reboots) i have 1031GB of snapshot reserve and no possibility to shrink this
In "Frontview / Volumes / Volume Settings / Snapshots" there is no option to set the snapshot space.
I have version 4.2.7
kind regards, Christian.

I had a simialr problem with a NVX where all the added disk space went to snapshot. Netgear told me to Factory default it and the forum implied there must be a better way.

Unfortunately never did find it and Factory defaulted it.

FYI - This is not a bug with 4.2.7. We temporary disable the snapshot resize process. I do not have any ETA on when this will be put back.

Why is the disabling of the process not mentioned in the 4.2.7 Release Notes? I would have thought this is something that should be mentioned as a limitation.

That was an oversight -- it's been added under Limitations.
