T48: Something wrong with the volume's CNID DB, using tempor

Postby jukkaforss » Sun Sep 05, 2010 5:21 am

After upgrade to T48, I am getting CNID DB errors.

Something wrong with the volume's CNID DB, using temporary CNID DB instead. Check server messages for details. Switching to read-only mode.

What this mean?

I am only using Mac with AFP shares and TimeMachine.

I had also problems to use Time Machine over WIFI.

All problems were solved with downgrade to T42.

What version of firmware were you using before?

We are looking into the time machine issue.

Thanks

I have a client with the same issue. The system j(NV+) ust did the update to 4.1.8 about a week ago and now we have this problem.

Advice please.

Guys look at the date of the earlier posts: September 2010. This was a long dead thread and it is about beta firmware not production firmware. There are plenty of newer threads that could have been used. I would suggest contacting NetGear tech support (http://www.readynas.com/support) for assistance.

NB: A ReadyNas is not an excuse not to have a backup. Fire, theft, multiple disk failures, other hardware failure, floods, user negligence etc. can all result in loss of data.
