Actually - I think that is a capability of the Windows version.

The mac/linux utorrent client doesn't have all of the features of the windows version (yet) - at least, not in the UI.

Update: Did a little more checking. The uTorrent team seem to be working on adding RSS support. Definately there are suggestions it is being worked on for the mac version as it is a key feature request, and it appears the linux core may have some support there (no big surprise as I would suspect the linux and mac cores to be very closely related). But equally important for us NAS users, the webui interface does not have support for RSS feeds yet. Check here: http://www.utorrent.com/ideabank and you will see it is one of the requests from other users in their "ideabank" feature request mechanism (check the mac and webui sections).

NAS: Ultra-4, NV+ & Duo v2 :: ST31500341AS & HDS723020BLA642 Drives
Network: Netgear GS108Tv2 / DM111P :: Airport Extreme / Express & Time Capsule
Clients: OS X 10.6 - 10.8 :: Ubuntu 11.x :: Win 7 + SP#1
UPS: APC ES-550

I only see rss.feed_as_default_label, rss.smart_repack_filter and rss.update_interval. Where are you trying to enter the rss reed?

So it´s impossible to make utorrent work on a ReadyNAS NX+?

Because i have big problem with the built in torrent and i dont like Transmission that very much.

Assuming you mean the NV+, then you are correct

NAS: Ultra-4, NV+ & Duo v2 :: ST31500341AS & HDS723020BLA642 Drives

Of course i mean NV+ :)

That was very bad news.

But why?. Because of hardware?

Hi

I downloaded the 1.1 version from this topic and installed it.
The install never finished but when I refreshed the frontview page it did show up fine.
However, when I rebooted the device some time later it got stuck at:
Booting...
Spinning Down...

I have posted all the details here:
http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=45100

I have tried os reinstall but that does not help same thing happens,
it just goes to installing addon and then the spinning down message

I have contact netgear support but they do not want to do anything as
the addon is from the community and therefore non official

Anyone have any ideas?

Bram

utorrent is not open source software - it uses a closed sourced core which is only compiled for Windows/OSX/Linux running on computers with x86-based processors, whereas the NV+ (and Duo) use a Sparc processor.

Same reason why dropbox, spotify etc will only run on x86 based machines

Good reason to upgrade your NAS - no?

I just bought it :(

I had no idea that i was a different processor.

Ok no big deal...that makes my choice even easier to by a Mac Mini to use as a media centre and use that to download to my ReadyNAS :)
