drive warranty correct?

Postby V_J » Thu Sep 30, 2010 5:49 am

Hello,

On the compatibility list ( http://www.readynas.com/?page_id=82 ), the Seagate Barracuda LP ST32000542AS is listed as carrying 5 years warranty. All sites I find seem to say 3 years... Could this be a typo?
It was a reason I was considering this disk... :-)

It may have used to be 5 years and then changed to 3 years.

The Seagate enterprise drives (NS) generally have a 5-yr. warranty and the desktop drives (AS) are 3-years. The actual warranty is provided by the drive manufacturer, so I'm thinking it's just a typo.

Is there also a typo in the compat list, relative to the model number? (the list shows a "ST32000541AS" 2TB model, but should this be "...542AS"?)

Yes, that's a typo -- it's been fixed. Thanks!
