i have updated the remote on nas and windows. i get fine ip 5.xxx.xxx..xxx both on windows and nas. but i still cant get it to work.
i have tried ping the nas ip 5.xxx.... but no connection

I am experiencing the same issue. Wish there was some way to debug this!

Could you try installing ReadyNAS Remote 1.0.9.46 on your ReadyNAS? There's also an updated PC client.

NB: A ReadyNas is not an excuse not to have a backup. Fire, theft, multiple disk failures, other hardware failure, floods, user negligence etc. can all result in loss of data.

mdgm,

I was able to get it working last night -- I found the troubleshooting drive at:

What fixed it for me was Step 14, which describes how to remove the gateway in the leaf adapter.
