Edit: chirpa can read my mind using the force.

Why do you need that "false" dichotomy when you can have both?

Wow big word had to look it up :)

a division into two especially mutually exclusive or contradictory groups or entities <the dichotomy between theory and practice>; also : the process or practice of making such a division <dichotomy of the population into two opposed classes>

Close. es (2nd person singular of sum) means you are. Not sure if I got the case right (my Latin is a bit rusty), but the phrase means you are wise my friend. amicus is the Latin word for friend (e.g. like you might have friends in your profile on the forum). Yes, I did assume you're male (a common assumption made using Latin).

Edit: I did get it wrong, I used the nominative when I should have used the vocative case. Oh well

should have been something like, "sapiens es, mi amice"
