Change the name of the NAS on Replicate?

ReadyNAS Replicate simplifies the replication of that data to another ReadyNAS whether the two systems are on the same LAN or whether they are a world apart.

Change the name of the NAS on Replicate?

Postby Gurutek » Tue Nov 23, 2010 5:42 pm

Where / How can I change the name of a NAS box on my ReadyNAS replicate account? I'm guessing it has more to do with ReadyNAS remote - but for the life of me I can't figure it out.

Thanks!

Yes, but if you change it - It doesn't change within either ReadyNAS remote nor in ReadyNAS replicate.

I had the same problem in the beta.

I tried a few different methods, as you did I'm sure, but the one that worked for me was to remove the replicate add-on then reinstall it.

I tried removing both the replicate and remote addons, with reboots between, then re-installing both, but that didn't work :(

After you change your hostname you need to visit the Replicate or Remote management page again so our perl script can detect the new hostname an update the alias.

Thanks,
Jeff

I will test this again...

What version of the add-on are you using?

Has anyone found the solution to this problem yet? I too have changed the name of my ReadyNAS. I have removed Remote & Replicate and reinstalled. Also reinstalled System 4.2.15. The host name is not changed under the Advanced Tab in both Remote & Replicate - it keeps the old name (which was the machine default Host Name followed by it's serial number). Not sure if the original Device ID used is what the Host Name was at the initial purchase of of the License Key and is associated with it forever? HELP! Without correct names, It's getting hard to figure out which NAS is backing up to which NAS!

Remote: 1.0.9.51
Replicate: 0.8.2
Raidiator: 4.2.15
